Preparing to Connect to a Network

Power Supply Considerations

Check the power at your site to ensure that you are receiving “clean” power (free of spikes and noise). Install a power conditioner if necessary.

Warning This product relies on the building’s installation for short-circuit (overcurrent) protection. Ensure that a fuse or circuit breaker no larger than 120 VAC, 15A U.S. (240 VAC, 10A international) is used on the phase conductors (all current-carrying conductors). The universal gateway AC power supply includes the following features:

Full range operation—100 to 240 VAC.

All units include a 6-foot (1.8-m) electrical power cord. (A label near the power inlet indicates the correct voltage, frequency, and current draw for the unit.)

Note The redundant AC power supply has a power cord with a special connector.

The universal gateway DC power supply includes the following features:

150 W output

Dual input connections for power source redundancy

Removable DC connector (A label near the power inlets indicates the correct voltage, current draw, and power dissipation for the unit.)

Double-hole grounding lug for reliable grounding to the chassis
