SIP Protocol Subscriber Features

With Release 4.4, Cisco BTS 10200 supports SIP subscribers such as SIP phones compliant with RFC 3261 or RFC 2543. The SIP protocol support in Cisco BTS 10200 provides the capability to provision subscriber features, and to allow SIP devices to work with the Cisco BTS 10200 Softswitch. This chapter describes the subscriber features.

For quick-reference tables listing the Subscriber features, see Chapter 1.

SIP Phone Initialization

Figure 1 shows SIP phone initialization on bootup.

The image shows actions that occur external to Cisco BTS 10200—it does not show how

Cisco BTS 10200 controls SIP initialization, but rather is representative of how a client may establish its identity with Cisco BTS 10200.

The numbers in the image reference the numerical order in which the sequence would occur.
