Table 1-2 summarizes the function of each LED. All LEDs are on the router front panel except for the LINK LED, which is on the router back panel.

OK	Power	Green	On when power is supplied to the router and when the router
			completes the self-test procedure and begins operating.
LAN	Ethernet	Green	On when the Ethernet interface is up.
			Off when the Ethernet interface has been shut down.
RXD	Ethernet	Green	Blinks when the Ethernet port receives a packet.
(Received)
TXD	Ethernet	Green	Blinks when the Ethernet port sends a packet.
(Transmitted)
CD	Serial	Orange	On when the serial interface is up and a carrier signal is detected.
(Carrier detect)			Off when a carrier signal is not detected.
RXD	Serial	Orange	Blinks when the serial port receives a packet.
(Received)
TXD	Serial	Orange	Blinks when the serial port sends a packet.
(Transmitted)
LINK	Ethernet	Green	On when Ethernet device is connected.
			Off when the connection has a problem. Refer to the Chapter 3,
			“Troubleshooting.”
