Connect the Router
The serial number label for Cisco 831 router is located on the rear of the chassis, at the left edge.

Connect the Router
Figure 1-3 shows a typical installation of a Cisco 831 router or SOHO 91 router.

Step1 If you are connecting more than 4 PCs to the router, connect the router to a switch or hub using
a yellow Ethernet cable, as shown in Figure1-3.
