Securing Base With Lap and Shoulder Belt:
WARNING DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur
To prevent ejection, metal support ring MUST be used when using lap and shoulder belt.
Follow steps 1 through 6 on page 17 of this manual.
7After buckling vehicle belt, install metal support ring (fig. a) around lap and shoulder belt:
-Install metal support ring on the opposite side of base from the vehicle buckle (fig. b and fig. c).

-Pinch lap belt and shoulder belt together.
-Slide belts into open slot in metal support ring and hook under inner leg to position lap belt and shoulder belt inside metal support ring (fig. d).
NOTE: Both the lap belt and shoulder belt MUST be inside metal support ring (fig. d).
8Tighten vehicle belt to secure the base. Follow steps 7 through 10 on page 18 of this manual.
Keep metal support ring for future use. Store in LATCH compartment when not in use.
