Yourenginewill not run properly usinga dirty air filter. Replacepre-cleanerafter every 25 hours of operationor every season. Service papercartridgeevery

100 hoursof operationorevery season, whicheveroccurs first.

Service air cleaner moreoften underdusty conditions.

1.Pull up on air filtercover handleand rotatetowardsengine.

2.Removecover.

3.Carefullyremoveair filter cartridgeand pre-cleanerfrom base.

4.Clean basecarefullyto preventdebris from falling into carburetor.

NOTE:Ifvery dirty or damaged,replace cartridge.

5.Place newpre-cleanerand cartridge firmly in base.

6.Align tabs on cover with slots in blower housingand replacecover.

7.Hook handleon cover and pushdown on handle to close.

mMPORTANT:Petroleumsolvents,such as kerosene,are not to be usedto clean the cartridge. They maycause deterio- rationof the cartridge. Do not oil car- tridge. Do not use pressurizedair to clean cartridge.

Air screen mustbe keptfree of dirt and chaffto preventenginedamagefrom overheating. Cleanwith a wire brushor compressedair to removedirt and stub- born dried gum fibers.

Inspectand replacecorroded mufflerand spark arrester (if equipped) as it could cre-

ate a fire hazard and/or damage.

SPARK PLUG(S)

Replace spark plug(s) at the beginning of each mowing season or after every 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs

first. Spark plug type and gap setting are shown in "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS"

section of this manual. raN-LINE FUEL FmLTER

The fuel filter should be replaced once each season. If fuel filter becomes

clogged, obstructing fuel flow to carbu- retor, replacement is required.

1.With engine cool, remove filter and plug fuel line sections.

2.Place new fuel filter in position in fuel line with arrow pointing towards carbu- retor.

3.Be sure there are no fuel line leaks and clamps are properly positioned.

4.Immediately wipe up any spilled gaso- line.
