4 HDMI 1.2 connector — Connects to a
TV for both audio and video signals.
NOTE: For a monitor without built‑in
speakers, only the video signal will
be read.
5 DVI-I connector — Connects to a
monitor or projector using a DVI‑D cable.
6 USB 2.0 connectors (3) — Connects
USB devices, such as a mouse, keyboard,
printer, external drive, or MP3 player.
7 IEEE 1394 connector — Connects
to high‑speed serial multimedia devices,
such as digital video cameras.
8S/PDIF connector — Connects to
amplifiers and TVs for digital audio through
optical digital cables. This format carries
an audio signal without going through an
analog audio conversion process.
9Computer name and Express Service
Code— Used to identify your computer
for use on support.dell.com or when
contacting technical support.
10 Line-out or headphone connector —
Connects to headphones or sends audio to
a powered speaker or sound system.
11 Line-in or microphone connector —
Connects to a microphone for voice or to
an audio cable for musical input.
12 Security cable slot — Connects to a lock
for a security cable used as an anti‑theft
device.
NOTE: Before you buy a lock, ensure
that it works with the security cable
slot on your computer.
