Listening to radio broadcasts

•Noise may be produced in the sound when receiving AM broadcasts
if there is a monitor or other such device nearby. If so, move the S-
81 and monitor as far apart as possible.

Use BAND to select the reception band.

Use [SEARCH] to tune in the station.

•The “TUNED” indicator lights when a station is tuned in.

Selecting a radio station

Use <FUNCTION>or [TUNER] (FUNCTION) to select
“TUNER”.
•The reception frequency is displayed.

¢FM station reception conditions

•When the reception mode is set to “FM AUTO”, the “ST”
indicator lights when a stereo broadcast is tuned in.
•If the signal is weak and the stereo broadcast reception is not
stable, set the reception band mode is set to “FM MONO”. The
“MONO” indicator lights.

¢Manual tuning

The reception frequency changes one step each time one of [6],
[7] is pressed.

Press [ENTER/MEMO] twice.

•The name input mode is set.

Use [DD]or [HH]to select the desired character.

Up to 8 characters can be input.
The characters that can be input are as shown below.
Use [FF]or [GG] to move the cursor.
Press [CLEAR] to delete characters.
