About the FM Broadcast Reception Status Display
When the reception band mode is set to “FM AUTO”, the “ST”
indicator lights when a stereo broadcast is tuned in.
If the signal is weak and stable stereo reception is not possible, select
“FM MONO�� to receive in monaural.
• Broadcast stations whose antenna signal are weak cannot be preset
automatically. If you wish to preset such stations, tune them in
manually.
• Once auto presetting starts, it cannot be stopped before it is
completed. (It takes about 60 seconds for auto presetting to be
completed.)
Automatically Presetting FM Stations
(Auto Preset)
Up to 40 stations can be preset.
Auto preset is not possible with AM broadcast stations.
1Press [TUNER] to select “FM AUTO” or “FM
MONO”.
2Press and hold in [MENU/SET].
“A.PRESET” fl ashes.
3Press [MENU/SET] again.
Broadcast stations are preset automatically.
Use [NUMBER] (0 ~ 9, +10) or [CH –/8, CH +/9] to
select the preset number.
Listening to Preset Stations
Presetting FM/AM Stations Manually
Up to 40 stations (total for FM and AM) can be preset.
1Tune in the station.
2Press [PROGRAM/DIRECT].
The minimum number display “P– –” for the unregistered preset
fl ashes.
3Select the number to be preset using [NUMBER]
(0 ~ 9, +10) or [CH –/8, CH +/9] and press
[PROGRAM/DIRECT].
The reception frequency and reception mode are preset.
Naming the Currently Tuned in Broadcast
Station
Names of up to 8 characters can be input.
1Press [MENU/SET] three times.
2Press [2/u] or [8/i].
The name input mode is set.
3Use [2/u, 8/i] to select the character, then press
[6/p] to set.
b Characters that can be input.
A to Z, 0 to 9,
^ ’ ( ) * + , - . / =
(space)
b Press [4/o, 6/p] to move the cursor.
b Press [CLEAR] to delete characters.
4When the name has been entered, press
[5/ENTER]
to
con rm the entry.
n Changing the Broadcast Station Name
q Call out the preset name to be changed, then press [MENU/SET]
three times.
w Use [4/o, 6/p] to select the character to be changed, then press
[CLEAR].
e Perform step 3 and 4 at “Naming the Currently Tuned in Broadcast
Station”.
If a preset number has not been registered for the broadcast station
you have entered, you are prompted to enter it now. Set the number
to be preset using [CH–/8, CH+/9].
