If placing mantel above built-in fireplace, you must meet minimum clearance between Continued mantel shelf and top of fireplace opening.

If your installation does not meet the above minimum clearances, you must:

•raise the mantel to an acceptable height, OR

•remove the mantel.

A qualified service person must connect fireplace to gas supply. Follow all local codes.

Never connect heater directly to the propane supply. This heater requires an external regulator (not sup- plied). Install the external regulator between the heater and propane supply.

Installation Items Needed

Before installing fireplace, make sure you have the items listed below.

•	external regulator (supplied by	•	sediment trap
	installer, see Figure 16, page 16)	•	tee joint
•	piping (check local codes)	•	pipe wrench
•	sealant (resistant to propane gas)	•	approved flexible gas line with
•	manual shutoff valve *		gas connector (if allowed by
•	test gauge connection *		local codes) (not provided)

*An A.G.A. design-certified manual shutoff valve with 1/8" NPT tap is an acceptable alternative to test gauge connection. Purchase the optional A.G.A. design-certified manual shutoff valve from your dealer. See Accessories, page 32.
