5 System sizing
5.1 Required information
The sizing of solar thermal systems depends on a number of factors which require the use of solar simulation software to allow reliable solar fraction predictions. The informa- tion required to reliably specify a domestic solar thermal hot water system is shown in Figure 49.

It can be seen from Figure 49 that the suitability of solar thermal depends primarily on the user and the local conditions.
