Connecting a game console
To connect a game console using HDMI:
1Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged
and the game console is turned off.
2Connect an HDMI cable (not provided) to one of the
HDMI jacks on the side of your TV and to the HDMI
OUT jack on the game console.
3Plug your TV’s power cord into a power outlet, then
turn on your TV.
4Turn on the game console, then set it to the correct
output mode. For more information, see the
documentation that came with the console.
5Press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCE list.
6Press or to highlight HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3,
then press ENTER.
Using component video (better)
To connect a game console using component video:
1Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged
and the game console is turned off.
2Connect a component video cable (not provided) to
the VIDEO/Y, PB, and PR jacks on the side of your TV
and to the COMPONENT OUT jacks on the game
console.
3Plug your TV’s power cord into a power outlet, t hen
turn on your TV.
4Turn on the game console, then set it to the correct
output mode. For more information, see the
documentation that came with the console.
5Press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCE list.
6Press or to select COMP/AV, then press ENTER.
Note
If your camcorder or game console has an HDMI
connection, we recommend that you use the HDMI
connection to get the best quality possible.
Note
An HDMI cable carries both audio and video. You do
not need to use any audio cables.

Note
•The VIDEO/Y, PB, and PR video jacks (used to
connect a component device) share the
AVI N AUDIO L /R jacks with the VIDEO/Y jack
(used to connect a composite device).
When you connect the audio using the
AVI N AUDIO L /R jacks, the audio output is
analog.
