Translator Adresów Sieci /ang. Network Address Translation/, zezwala róŜnym uŜytkownikom w twojej lokalizacji na dostęp do Internetu przez pojedynczą publiczny Adres IP lub wielorakie Publiczne Adresy IP. NAT dostarcza ochronę typu Firewall przed atakami hakerów i posiada taka elastyczność, która pozwala ci mapować Prywatne Adresy IP do Publicznych Adresów IP w zakresie kluczowych usług, takich jak Strony Internetowe i FTP.

5.3.3.2. DMZ

DMZ Host, to lokalny komputer przeznaczony do Internetu. Jeśli ustawiasz określony wewnętrzny Adres IP, jako DMZ Host, wszystkie nadchodzące pakiety zostaną sprawdzone przez Firewall i algorytmy NAT, a następnie przekazane do Hosta DMZ.

Dla przykładu, jeśli masz lokalnego klienta w postaci komputera PC, który nie moŜe poprawnie wykonywać aplikacji Internetowej /np. Gry/ zza Firewalla NAT, moŜesz wówczas “otworzyć” klienta na niestrzeŜony dwudrogowy dostęp do Internetu poprzez zdefiniowanie DMZ Host.
