22 Chapter 2 Adjusting Screen
● To enhance the outline of the im age [Outline Enhancer]
OutlineEnhancer fu nctions to emphasize outline of the images by emphasiz ing the color difference
between pixels composing the images. This m ay improve the texture of the material and its feel of the
images.
On the contrary, it also function s to reproduce the images smoothly by gradat ing its outline.
Procedure
Choose <Color> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
Choose <Advanced Settings> from the <C olor> menu, and press .
Choose <Outline Enhancer> and pr ess .
Select the display status in the range f rom -3 to 3 (soft to sharp) with or a s desired.
Press to exit t he adjustment.
● To adjust the gain value [Gain]
Each luminance of red/green /blue composing the color is called “Gain”. The gain adjustment may cha nge
the color tone of the “White” (when the max input signal for each color is obtaine d)
Adjustable range: 0 to 100%
Procedure
Choose <Color> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
Choose <Advanced Settings> from the <C olor> menu, and press .
Choose <Gain>, and press .
Choose the color for adjustment among <Red>, <Green>, or <Blue> to adjust, and press .
Adjust the gain with or .
Press to exit t he adjustment.
NOTE
The <Temperature> sett ing invalidates this set ting.
The gain value may change depend ing on the value of the color temperat ure.
When changing the gai n value, the color temperatur e adjusting range is changed to “ User”.

● To adjust the black level [Black Level]
The brightness of black and chromaticity ca n be adjusted based on the respective black level of red, gree n
and blue. Adjust the black level by showing images with black background.
Adjustable range:0 to 100%
Procedure
Choose <Color> from the Adjustment menu, and press .
Choose <Advanced Settings> from the <C olor> menu, and press .
Choose <Black Level>, and press .
Choose the color for adjustment among <Red>, <Green>, or <Blue> to adjust, and press .
Adjust the black level with or .
Press to exit t he adjustment.
NOTE
To further darken the black when t he value of the black level is 0, lower the brightness value.
Lowering the contrast valu e will not change the brightne ss of the black level.
