Resolution

The LCD panel consists of a fixed number of pixel elements which are illuminated to form the screen image.

The EIZO L771 monitor panel consists of 1600 horizontal pixels and 1200 vertical pixels. At a resolution of 1600 X1200, all pixels are used and the image is displayed as a full screen. At the lower display modes of 640 x 480 or 800 x 600, the images are displayed in the center of the screen using a smaller portion of the pixels. (“Normal” setting in the “Screen Size” menu.)

VESA DPMS

The acronym VESA stands for “Video Electronics Standards

Association,” and DPMS stands for “Display Power Management Signaling.” DPMS is a communication standard that PCs and graphics boards use to implement power savings on the monitor side.
