BeawarethatmetalpartsinthefireboxcanremainHOTlongafterthefirehasgoneout
andEVENaftertheShut‐Downcycleiscomplete.Alwaysuseextremecautionwhen
handlingpotentiallyhotstoveparts,evenifyouthinktheyshouldbecold.
Ashesshouldonlyberemovedwhenthestovehasbeenshut‐downandhasbeen
allowedtocoolthoroughly.Hotemberscanremainunderasheslongafterthefirehas
goneout,soalwaysbeextracarefulwhenhandlinganyashesfromthis(orany)stove.
Differentpelletswillgeneratevaryingamountsofashandburnpotdeposits.Carefully
monitortheashbuildupinthestovewhenfirstoperatingtheunit,aswellaswhenever
adifferentbrandofpelletsisburned.
Whiletheamountofashgeneratedbythisunitisnotexcessivecomparedtoa
traditionallog‐burningwoodstove,keepingtheunitcleanandfreeofashisESSENTIAL
forpeakperformanceandmaximumefficiency.Ashbuild‐uphampersairflow,reduces
efficiency,andcancauseasmokeback.

maintainedand/ordirtystove.Thispelletstoveisahighlyefficientmachineand,as
such,requiressufficientmaintenancetokeepitoperatingatitspeak.
AshRemovalandDisposal
Pressthe“Off”buttonandallowthestovetocompletetheshut‐downcycleandcool
completely.
Becauseoftheopendesignofthefirebox,themajorityoftheashwillalreadybeinthe
ashpan.Openthemaindoorofthestoveanduseanoldpaintbrushorputtyknifeto
moveashfromaroundtheburnpotintotheashpanbelow.
DisposalofAshes
–
Ashesshouldbeplacedinametalcontainerwithatight
fittinglid.Theclosedcontainerofashesshouldbeplacedona
noncombustiblefloororontheground,wellawayfromallcombustible
materials,pendingfinaldisposal.Iftheashesaredisposedofbyburialinsoil
orotherwiselocallydispersed,theyshouldberetainedintheclosedcontainer
untilallcindershavebeenthoroughlycooled.
