andEVENaftertheShut‐Downcycleiscomplete.Alwaysuseextremecautionwhen
handlingpotentiallyhotstoveparts,evenifyouthinktheyshouldbecold.
Yearly(orendofseason)maintenanceshouldincludethestepslistedinthissectionAS
WELLASthestepslistedinthe“DailyMaintenance,”“BiweeklyMaintenance,”and
“MonthlyMaintenance”sectionsofthismanual.
Yearlymaintenanceshouldbeperformedattheendoftheburningseason.Leavingash
andotherbuild‐upinthestoveduringthenon‐heatingmonthscanleadtopremature
metaldegradationinthestoveandventingsystem.Usingextraattentiontodetailand
beingcertaintobeverythoroughintheendofseasoncleaningwillhelpincreasethe
operatinglifeofthestoveandventingsystem.

Theproductsofcombustionwillcontainsmallparticlesofflyash.Theflyash
willcollectintheexhaustventingsystemandrestricttheflowofthefluegases.
Incompletecombustion,suchasthatwhichoccursduringstartup,shutdownor
incorrectoperationoftheroomheaterwillleadtosomesootformationwhich
willcollectintheexhaustventingsystem.Theexhaustventingsystemshould
beinspectedatleastonceeveryyeartodetermineifcleaningisnecessary.
