Typical Problems and Solutions
Most printer problems have simple so lutions. Define th e problem
from those belo w and apply the recommended s olutions. For
more information, see “Problem Solver”.

Print quality problems

If you are having print quality problems, try the solutions offere d
here.

Horizontal banding

❏Make sure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet
feeder.
❏Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink
nozzles.

Vertical misalignment

❏Make sure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet
feeder.
❏Run the Print Head Alignment utility.
❏Turn off the High Speed setting in your printer driver. For
instructions, see the printer driver’s online help for Windows.

online Reference Guide.

Color gaps

❏Make sure your paper is not damaged, dirty, or old.
❏Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink
nozzles.
