Air/line drying
The following are examples of items that
require drying without heat. These items can
be placed on a line or rack to air dry. Heat
sensitive items should not be dried in this
dryer.

Fire Hazard

Do not dry heat sensitive fabrics, plastic,
rubber, or some stuffed items with heat.
Air/line dry these items on a line or rack.
Failure to do so could result in fire or
damaged items.

Olefin, polypropylene, sheer nylon, bonded or laminated fabrics,
cotton and canvas shales with foam or foam rubber materials

Plastic, rubber items

1 Shower curtains, tabk cloths, baby panties

Scatter rugs

Check label. Air/line d y if drying with heat is not recommended.
Drying special-care items
Most garments and household textiles have care labels with laundering instructions. Always follow
label directions when they are available. General dry ng instructions for some special washables
are included in this section.
Blankets and

woolens

Machine drying knitted woolens is not recommended. (Block to shape
while wet and allow to air dry )
Line dry blankets in shade cn a breezy day over two lines. Pin edges
together and straighten them When partly dry, turn the blanket over,
repin and restraighten. When dry, brush nap.
*Cotton, rayon, Dry as recommended for per nanent press fabrics.

Electric blankets, If manufacturer recommends machine drying:

woolen blankets, 1. Place one or two dry towe s in the dryer and preheat 3-5 minutes.

tumbling can cause shrink ng and pilling.
4. Place blanket on flat sut-fa :e or over two lines to finish drying. Gently
stretch to original size and shape.
5. When completely dry, bruz’h gently to raise nap. Press binding with
cool iron if needed.
