Forcloset installation with a door, minimum ventilation openings in the top and bottom of the door are required.
Louvereddoors with equivalent ventilation openings are acceptable.
Gassupply: This dryer is equipped for
usewith Natural gas. It is design-certified by
CSAInternational for LP (propane or
butane)gases with appropriate conversion.
Thegas line must include 1/8" NPT
minimumplugged tapping accessible for
testgauge connection, immediately
upstreamof the gas connection to the dryer.
1/2"IPS pipe is recommended.
3/8"approved aluminum or copper tubing is
acceptablefor lengths under 20 ft (6.1 m) if
localcodes and gas supplier permit.
Ifyou are using Natural gas, do not use
coppertubing.
3/8"flare x 3/8" NPT adapter fitting between
dryerpipe and 3/8" approved tubing.
Lengthsover 20 ft (6.1 m) should use larger
tubingand a different size adapter fitting.
Ifyour dryer has been converted to use LP
gas,3/8" LP compatible copper tubing can
beused. If the total length of the supply line
ismore than 20 ft (6.1 m), use larger pipe.
NOTE:Pipe-joint compounds that resist
theaction of LP gas must be used. Do not
useTEFLON®† tape.
Mustinclude a shutoff valve.
Inthe U.S.A.:
Anindividual manual shutoff valve must be
installedwithin six (6) feet (1.8 m) of the
dryerin accordance with the National Fuel
GasCode, ANSI Z223.1.
InCanada:
Anindividual manual shutoff valve must be
installedin accordance with the B149.1,
NaturalGas and Propane Installation Code.
Itis recommended that an individual manual
shutoffvalve be installed within six (6) feet
(1.8m) of the dryer.
Thelocation should be easy to reach for
openingand closing.
Electrical:120-volt, 60-Hz, AC-only,
15-or 20-amp fused electrical supply is
required.A time-delay fuse or circuit
breakeris recommended. It is also
recommendedthat a separate circuit
servingonly this dryer be provided.
Exhaustventing: Exhaust your dryer to
theoutside. 4" (102 mm) diameter vent is
required.Rigid or flexible metal exhaust vent
mustbe used. Do Not use plastic or metal
foilvent. Exhaust outlet hood must be at
least12" (305 mm) from the ground or any
objectthat may be in the path of the exhaust.
