SPECIAL PLAYBACK

Picture Search (Forward and Reverse)

1Turn the SHUTTLE ring clockwise (or counterclockwise), during normal playback. See “SHUTTLE Ring Operation”.

øThe image can be seen while the tape is advanced (or rewound) at high speed.

2To return to normal playback, release the SHUTTLE ring.

NOTES:

œDuring picture search, noise (horizontal bars) will appear in the picture.

œThe sound is muted.

Still Image

1Press the STILL/PAUSE button, during normal playback.

øA still image can be viewed.

2To return to normal playback, press the PLAY button.

NOTES:

œIf still mode continues for 5 minutes or more, the VCR will go into stop mode to avoid damaging the tape.

œIf the image is unstable (rolling vertically), adjust the vertical lock control to correct.

Frame Advance

1Turn the JOG dial clockwise (or counterclockwise), during still image mode.

øThe still image is advanced (or rewound) of one image (field).

øTurn the dial faster to increase the speed of the frame advance.

2To return to normal playback, press the PLAY button.

NOTES:

œDuring reverse frame advance, noise will appear in the picture.

œIf frame advance mode continues for 5 minutes or more, the VCR will go into stop mode to avoid damaging the tape.

Reverse Playback

1Turn the SHUTTLE ring counterclockwise and hold it, during normal playback. See “SHUTTLE Ring Operation”.

øReverse playback will start.

2To return to normal playback, release the SHUTTLE ring.

NOTES:

œDuring reverse playback, noise will appear in the picture.

œIf operated from normal playback mode, reverse playback is only possible during 2-hour playback speed mode.

œThe sound is muted.

Slow motion (Forward and Reverse)

1Turn the SHUTTLE ring clockwise (or counterclockwise) and hold it, during still image mode. See “SHUTTLE Ring Operation”.

øForward (or reverse) slow motion playback will start.

2To return to normal playback, press the PLAY button.

NOTES:

œIf slow motion mode continues for 5 minutes or more, the VCR will go into stop mode to avoid damaging the tape.

œThe sound is muted.
