TURNING THE CAMERA ON AND OFF

Turning on the camera

1Open the monitor unit, and press the

ON/OFF button for at least 1second.

hIf you press the REC/PLAY button for

at least 1second, the camera turns

on in the playback mode.

hIf you press the ON/OFF button once,

the camera will switch to the power

save mode.

Turning on the camera when the power save

(sleep) function is active

In order to preserve battery pack power, the power save (sleep) function

will automatically turn off the camera after one minute of no use during

shooting, or five minutes of no use during playback (factory-preset

setting).

iWhen the power save function is active, you can restore the power by any

of the following methods:

hPress the ON/OFF button.

hPress the [ ]/[ ] button.

hOpen the monitor unit.

hPress the SET button.

iThe camera will switch to the standby mode after the power save function

has been active for about 1hour, or when you close the monitor unit.

iThe power save mode will not be activated while you are recording.

iThe user can specify the time elapsed before the power save function is

activated (page137).

iWhen the camera is connected to a computer or printer using the

dedicated USB interface cable, the power save function is disabled, and

the camera turns off after about 12hours.
