battery. It must be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally
sound manner.
•Donotdisposeofalead-acidbatteryinafire.Thebatterymay
explode or leak.
•Donotdisposeofalead-acidbatteryinyourregular,household
trash.Theincineration,landfillingormixingofsealedlead-
acid batteries with household trash is prohibited by law in
most areas.
•Protecttheenvironmentbynotdisposingofthisproductwith
household waste (2002/96/EC). Check your local authority for
recycling advice and facilities (Europe only).
•Returnanexhaustedbatterytoafederalorstateapproved
lead-acidbatteryrecycler,suchasaPowerWheels® authorized
service center or a local seller of automotive batteries. For the

for other information regarding the environmentally sound

IfyouliveintheStateofFloridaortheStateofMinnesota,itis
prohibited by law for anyone to throw away lead-acid batteries
in the municipal waste stream.
Care
If a battery leak develops, avoid contact with the leaking acid and
place the damaged battery in a plastic bag. See information below
for proper disposal.
If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool water
foratleast15minutesandcallaphysician.
If acid is internally ingested,givewater,milkofmagnesiaor
egg whites immediately. Never give emetics or induce vomiting.
Call a physician.
•Chargeanewbatteryforatleast18hoursbeforefirstuse.
Neverchargethebatterylongerthan30hours.Overchargingor
undercharging the battery may shorten battery life and decrease
vehicle running time.
•Afterthefirstcharge,rechargethebatteryforatleast14hours
aftereachuse.Neverchargethebatterylongerthan30hours.
Chargethebatteryaftereachuse,regardlessofhowlongthe
vehicle was used.
•Thebatterymustbeuprightwhilecharging.
•Donotallowthebatterytorundowncompletelybeforecharging.
•Chargethebatterybeforestoringthevehicle.
•Chargethebatteryatleastoncepermonth,evenifthevehicle
has not been used.
•Leavingthebatteryinadischargedconditionwillruinit.
•Alwaysremoveanexhaustedbatteryfromthevehicle.
Battery leakage and corrosion can damage the vehicle.
•Donotstorethebatteryonasurface(suchasakitchencounter
top) which could be damaged by the acid contained inside the
battery. Take precautions to protect the surface where you store
the battery.
• Donotstorethebatteryintemperaturesabove75°Forbelow-10°F.
• UseonlyaPowerWheels® 6 volt battery. Remember to charge the
newbatteryforatleast18hoursbeforefirstuse.
•Preventthebatteryfrommovingfreelyinsidethebattery
compartment. Always use the battery retainer to secure
the battery in the battery compartment.
•Examinethebattery,chargerandtheirconnectorsforexcessive
wear or damage each time you charge the battery. If damage is
detected,donotusethechargerorthebatteryuntilyouhave
replaced the worn or damaged part.
