Turn the knob clockwise to High Heat for heating with highest fan speed. Set to Med Heat for heating with medium fan speed. Turn to Low Heat for heating with the lowest fan speed. Models designated "WE" only use electric heating elements. Heat Pumps (WY models), use the compressor for heating, automatically switching to electric heating elements only when the outside temperature reaches 43°F.
Turn the knob counterclockwise to Fan Only for medium speed without cooling or heating. Turn to High Cool for cooling with the highest fan speed. Turn to Med Cool for cooling with medium fan speed. Set to Low Cool for cooling with the lowest fan speed. Turn the knob in either direction to Off to turn the unit completely off.
NOTE: The fan will cycle with the compressor or the heating element and will not run constantly when in the heating mode.
This knob controls the thermostat – turn clockwise to set a cooler temperature, counterclockwise to make it warmer.
