DWHITE BALANCE

For natural colors, choose a setting that matches the light source (for an explanation of “white bal- ance,” see the Glossary on page 101).

AUTO White balance adjusted automatically.

iFor subjects in direct sunlight.

jFor subjects in the shade.

kUse under “daylight” fl uorescent lights.

lUse under “warm white” fl uorescent lights.

mUse under “cool white” fl uorescent lights.

nUse under incandescent lighting.

gFor underwater subjects in an aquarium.

If AUTO does not produce the desired results (for example, when taking close-ups), choose the option that matches the light source.

• Auto white balance is used with the fl ash. Turn the lashf off (pg. 35) to take pictures at other settings.

Results vary with shooting conditions. Play pictures back after shooting to check colors in the monitor.

RCONTINUOUS

Capture motion in a series of pictures.

JTOP 40 (HIGH SPEED): The camera takes up to 40 pictures at high speed while the shutter button is pressed. Not available in C.

ITOP 40: The camera takes up to 40 pictures while the shutter button is pressed.

OFF: The camera takes one picture each time the shutter button is pressed.

The fl ash turns off automatically. The previously-se- lected fl ash mode is restored when OFF is selected for RCONTINUOUS.

Frame rate varies with shutter speed.
