Press the shutter button halfway to focus.

If the camera is able to focus, it will beep twice.

If the camera is unable to focus, the focus frame will turn red, s will be dis- played. Change the composition or use focus lock (P24).

4 Shoot.

RIf the subject is poorly lit, the fl ash may fi re when the pic-

The Shutter Button

The shutter button has two positions. Pressing the shutter button halfway sets focus and exposure; to shoot, press the shutter button the rest of the way down.
