NUsing the Flash (Intelligent Flash)

RIf the fl ash will fi re, pwill be displayed when the shutter button is pressed halfway. At slow shutter speeds, kwill appear in the display to warn that pictures may be

blurred; use of a tripod is recommended.

RFlash is charging if pblinks in yellow. Wait for completing the charge.

R The fl ash may fi re several times with each shot. Do not move the camera until shooting is complete.

RThe fl ash may cause vignetting.

Red-Eye Removal

When Intelligent Face Detection (P31) and red-eye removal (P62) are on, red-eye removal is available in auto (K; RED EYE REDUCTION), fl ash on (L; FORCED FLASH), and slow sync (M; RED EYE & SLOW) modes. Red-eye removal minimizes red-eye caused when light from the fl ash is refl ected from the subject’s retinas as shown in the illustration at right.
