The AF-Assist Illuminator

If the subject is poorly lit, the AF-assist illuminator will light to assist the focus operation when the shutter button is pressed halfway.

ANotes

•Avoid shining the AF-assist illuminator directly into your subject’s eyes. See page 93 for information on disabling the AF-assist illuminator.

•The camera may be unable to focus using the AF-assist illuminator in some cases. If the camera is unable to focus in macro mode (pg. 36), try increasing the distance to the subject.

•The AF-assist illuminator is not available in silent mode.
