Turning the Camera on and off
Shooting Mode
Press the nbutton to turn the camera on. The lens will extend and the lens cover will open.
Press nagain to turn the camera off.
BTip: Switching to Playback ModePress the Dbutton for about a second to start playback. Press the shutter button halfway to return to shooting mode.
CCautions
•Forcibly preventing the lens from extending could cause damage or product malfunction.
•Pictures can be affected by fingerprints and other marks on the lens. Keep the lens clean.
•The nbutton does not completely disconnect the camera from its power supply.
BTip: Auto Power OffPlayback Mode
To turn the camera on and begin playback, press the Dbutton for about a second.
Press the nbutton to turn the camera off.
BTip: Switching to Shooting ModeTo exit to shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway. Press the Dbutton to return to playback.
ANote
The nbutton lights up while the camera is on. When the camera is turned off, the light goes off.
Steps First
The camera will turn off automatically if no operations are performed for the length of time selected in the oAUTO POWER OFF menu (pg. 83). To turn the camera on, use the nbutton or press the Dbutton for about a second.
