Basic Setup

A language-selection dialog is displayed the first time the camera is turned on. Set up the camera as described below (for information on resetting the clock or changing languages, see page 88).

1Choose a language.

1.1Press the selector up, down, left, or right to highlight a lan- guage.

1.2Press MENU/OK.

2Set the date and time.

2.1 Press the selector left or right to highlight the year, month,

day, hour, or minute and press

up or down to change. To change the order in which the year, month, and day are displayed, highlight the date format and press the selector up or down.

2.2 Press MENU/OK.

2Tip: The Camera Clock

If the batteries are removed for an extended period, the camera clock will be reset and the language-selection dialog will be displayed when the camera is turned on. If the batteries are left in the camera or an optional AC adapter connected for about 10 hours, the battery can be removed for about 24 hours without resetting the clock or language selection.
