Understanding video connections

Your receiver has two types of stan dard video connections. You should use the

best connection available to get the best display. For example, if your VCR

supports an S-video connection, connect the VCR to your receiver using S-video

instead of composite video.

through a single “pin.” This connection

method is th e one that is m os t c om m onl y

found on devices.

Better S-Video. The v ideo sig nal is split i nto two

signals, black-and-white and color. Text

displayed on-screen through this

connection will be noticeably sharper then

composite.
