Determine the Hardness of Your Tap Water

In the bag containing these instructions, you should find a water hardness test strip package. Read the instructions on the package, remove the test strip and follow the instructions to determine the hardness level of your tap water. You will use this information to calibrate your dishwasher to dispense the optimal amount of detergent.

Set Control to Calibration Mode

From the standby mode (dishwasher not running a cycle and the panel lights on), enter the water hardness selection mode.

Enter Water Hardness

Once in the water hardness calibration mode, the 3-digit display will appear and display a number from a 1 to 5. If the water hardness has never been entered, the display will show 5. Press the COOKWARE pad to raise the value or the NORMAL WASH pad to lower the value shown on the display. Set the value according to the table at left as determined from the water hardness test strip.
