The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.

How to Delay the Start of Cleaning (on some models)

You can set the oven control to delay-start

Change the Start Time by touching the + or

the oven, clean for a specific length of time

Safety Instructions

Follow the directions in the Before a Clean Cycle section.

Latch the door.

NOTE: Never force the latch. If the oven is too hot, you will not be able to slide the latch. Allow the oven to cool.

Touch the Self Clean pad.

Touch the + or pads to set the Clean Time.

The Clean Time is preset for 4 hours and

20 minutes. You can change the Clean Time to any time between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the amount of soil in your oven. If a different Clean Time is desired, touch the + or pads until the desired Clean Time is displayed.

Touch the Start Time pad.

While the oven is self-cleaning, you can touch the Clock pad to display the time of day. To return to the clean countdown, touch the Self Clean pad.

The oven shuts off automatically when the clean cycle is complete, and 0:00 will flash in the display.

Slide the latch handle to the left as far as it will go and open the door.

Care and Cleaning

To Stop a Clean Cycle (on some models)

Touch the Clear/Off pad.

Wait until the oven has cooled below the locking temperature to unlatch the door. You will not be able to open the door right away unless the oven has cooled below the locking temperature.

After a Clean Cycle (on some models)

You cannot set the oven for cooking until the oven is cool enough for the door to be unlatched.

You may notice some white ash in the oven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools.

If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-filled scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixture.

These deposits are usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the clean cycle.

If the oven is not clean after one clean cycle, repeat the cycle.

nWhile the oven is self-cleaning, you can touch the Clock pad to display the time of day. To return to the clean countdown, touch the Cooking Time pad.

nIf the racks become hard to slide, apply

a small amount of vegetable oil or cooking oil to a paper towel and wipe the edges of the oven racks with the paper towel.
