How to Remove Packaging Tape

To assure no damage is done to the finish of the product, the safest way to remove the packaging tape adhesive on new appliances is an application of a household liquid dishwashing detergent, mineral oil or cooking oil. Apply with a soft cloth and allow to soak. Wipe dry and then apply an appliance polish to thoroughly clean and protect the surface.

NOTE: The plastic tape must be removed from the chrome trim on cooktop parts. It cannot be removed after the cooktop has been heated.

Write down the model and serial numbers.

You’ll find them on a label under the cooktop.

These numbers are also on the Consumer Product Ownership Registration Card that came with your cooktop. Before sending in this card, please write these numbers here:

Use these numbers in any correspondence or service calls concerning your cooktop.

If you received a damaged cooktop…

Immediately contact the dealer (or builder) that sold you the cooktop.
