SPECIAL FEATURES (cont.)

Joystick Controller (cont.)

Joystick

This controls the direction your wheelchair will move. Gently push the joystick in the direction you would like to travel. The further you push from center or neutral, the faster the wheelchair will move. Releasing the joystick stops the wheelchair and automatically applies the brakes.

Tires

Your Alero has been fitted with flat free tires. It will not be necessary to check tire pressure. You will need to check tire tread for wear.

Folding Your Alero

Your Alero is a fully foldable power wheelchair. This feature will help save space when transporting or storing your Alero. Please follow the procedures below to fold your Alero:

1.Disconnect and remove both batteries.

2.Fold up the footplates on both swing-away footrests.

3.Unlock the footrest and swing them to the side.

4.Remove each footrest and place them clear of the Alero.

5.Remove seat cushion and set aside.

6.Take hold of the strap in the middle of the seat upholstery. (Fig. 22) Depending on your strength capabilities you may want to use two hands.

7.Pull up on the seat upholstery. (Fig. 23)

8.Remove battery charger from its storage pouch on the rear of the seat.
