Final Safety Checks

15.If your child is already in the safety seat because you have been using it as a carrier, make sure child is secured with the harness according to section 7, “Securing Your Child in the Safety Seat/Carrier” (page 37).

16.Make sure that the safety seat is properly secured by the vehicle seat belt system by performing the following test

First, PUSH DOWN on the top of the safety seat slowly but firmly to make sure the vehicle belt does not lengthen at all and that the vehicle belt is fastened very tightly around the safety seat/base ￿.

Next, holding the safety seat near the vehicle

and to both sides to make sure the vehicle belt

 

does not lengthen or loosen and the safety seat
