SAFETY AND SET-UP______________________

77The bread can set on fire because of over- heating. Never use the appliance in or near to combustible, inflammable places, materi- als and furniture. Do not let the appliance come into contact with or become covered by inflammable materials e.g. curtains, textiles, walls, etc. Please make sure that the appli- ance is always kept a safe distance away from flammable materials and furniture.

77Do not use paper, cardboard, plastic in or under the appliance.

77Use bread slices which are suitable to the bread slots.

77Operate the appliance with delivered parts only.

77Do not use the appliance with damp or wet hands.

77Always use the appliance on a stable, flat, clean, dry and non-slip surface.

77Make sure that there is no danger that the power cord could be accidentally pulled or that someone could trip over it when the ap- pliance is in use.

77Position the appliance in such a way that the plug is always accessible.

77There is a danger of burns. Avoid contact with hot surfaces; the outer casing becomes very hot during use.

77Do not stick any foreign objects on the appli- ance.

77This appliance must not be operated with an external clock timer or separate remote con- trol system.

77When using for the first time, smoke can de- velop due to production residues. However, this does not mean the appliance is defective. The first time you switch it on, use the appli- ance as you normally would, but without bread. Ensure for proper room ventilation.

77In case of fire, disconnect the plug from the wall socket before using appropriate firefight- ing measures.

77To avoid the risk of fire, frequently remove crumbs from crumb tray. Make sure the crumb tray is placed correctly. Always ensure that there is sufficient ventilation during use.

77If the toaster begins to emit smoke during op- eration, immediately stop the toasting process. Should bread get stuck in the toaster, always unplug the appliance before you pull out the bread. Be careful the bread can be very hot.

77The toaster can only be switched on when the plug is connected to a wall socket.

77Do not use any tools or objects in the appli- ance. Metal objects could cause short circuits or electric shock. Do not damage the heating elements and mechanics.

77Do not use the appliance as a source of heat.

77Do not attempt to dislodge bread when the appliance is switched on.

77Do not toast the bread with extremely runny ingredients such as butter.
