Preparation

1Remove all packaging and sticker materials and dispose of them according to the applicable legal regulation.

2Before using of the appliance for the first time, clean all parts which come into contact with water carefully. (See the “Cleaning and care” section).

3Completely roll out the power cord from the bottom of the base E .

4Rinse the water tank C with water. This will remove any remaining manufacturing residues from the inside of the water tank .

5 Set the water tank C on its base E . Make sure that the kettle is sitting in an upright position and that it is sitting on the base correctly and in a stable position.

6Clean kettle well before initial use and discard water of first two boiling cycles.

Operation

1Push the lid release button G on the kettle to open the lid F .

– The lid F opens automatically.

2 Fill the water tank C with water.

Notes

77Do not place the water tank C on the base E while filling it with water.

77Never fill the water tank C above the maxi- mum level indicator or below the minimum level indicator.

3 Close the lid F until it clicks into place.

4 Place the water tank C on the base E . Make sure that it is sitting in an upright and stable position.

5Insert the plug into the wall socket.

6 Press down On/Off switch I to >> I<< position.

–On/Off switch I illuminates and heating process begins.

Note

77Lid F should always be closed during the heating process; otherwise the kettle will not switch off automatically.

7After a few minutes, the water will start to boil. The kettle switches off automatically.

–On/Off switch I switches off and the illumination disappears.

Note

77If you want to stop the heating, press the On/ Off switch I up to >>0<< position.

8Disconnect the plug from the wall socket.

9 Take the water tank C from the base E . Only

hold it by the handle H .

Caution

77Do not open the lid F as hot water could splash out. Make sure that no water splashes onto the base E .

10Pour the water from the spout A to the cup or glass you want to use.

Notes

77If you want to continue the heating process, repeat the procedure from 1 to 10.

77Let the kettle cool down between each heat- ing process.

Hints and Tips

77The kettle is equipped with a filter B which filters out limestone and other residues when the water is being poured out.

77Use softened or filtered water to prevent lime build-up.
