Caution
77Never use petrol, solvents or abrasive clean- ers, metal objects or hard brushes to clean the appliance.
77Never put the appliance, base E or power cord in water or any other liquid.
1 Turn the appliance off and disconnect it from the wall socket.
2Let the appliance cool down completely.
3Use a damp soft cloth and a little mild cleanser to clean the exterior of the appliance.
4 The filter B can be removed for cleaning
purposes. To do this:
–Detach the filter B inside the kettle by pushing it from the center and allow it to disengage from the locking lugs.
–Clean the filter depending on the level of lime
–To replace the filter again, insert the notch on the filter to the fitting inside of the kettle. Press from the two sides to the outer side of the kettle, so that the filter clicks into the place and the two sides accurately fix on the corresponding locking lugs.
Descaling the kettle
Descaling extends the life of your kettle. Descal- ing period depends on the water hardness of your area.
1Fill the kettle with water, up to three quarters of the maximum level.
2 Add white vinegar or lemon juice in the kettle up to the maximum level.
3Boil the solution (refer to operation section).
4 After the kettle has switched off, unplug the appliance.
5Leave the solution in the kettle for a few hours.
6 Pour out the solution and rinse the inside thoroughly.
7 Fill the kettle with clean water and boil the water.
8Empty the kettle and again rinse it with water.

77If there is still some scale, repeat the proce- dure.
77You can also use a descaler which is ap- propriate for utensils. If you use a descaler, please follow the instructions of that descaler.

77If you do not descale the kettle after a long time you use it, the bottom at the inside of the water tank fully gets covered with lime scale and the appliance will not work again. In that case, it requires to be repaired by a service centre.
77No warranty claims are accepted for damage caused by improper handling.
77Before using the appliance after cleaning, dry all parts carefully using a soft towel.
