Clearing Jams

WARNING! Anytime any maintenance or repairs are done (including clearing jams), wear ANSI-approved

impact safety goggles and appro- priate hearing protection. THEN:

1.Disconnect the Framing Nailer from its air supply.

2.Empty the Magazine (71) complete- ly.

3.Try to fire the Nailer into a piece of scrap wood or flooring to ensure that there is no trapped air in the system.

4.Always leave Magazine open dur- ing maintenance. The Magazine is spring-loaded and may cause parts or a nail to fly out of Nailer.

5.Always fire the Trigger repeatedly to make sure all of the air is expended from the Nailer.

6.If a nail is jammed in the discharge area, simply remove it with pliers.

7.If a nail is jammed in the magazine, pull the Feeder Shoe (69) all the way back to the disengaged position. Using a screwdriver (not included), attempt to release the jammed nail by probing any of the three openings in the Magazine to release the nail. Pull out the jammed nail and the remain- der of the nail strip that is still in the magazine.

8.Dispose of the remaining nail strip; it may be bent or damaged in some other way. Reload the magazine with a new nail strip.

9.Pull back on the Feeder Shoe and with your other hand, pull the tab down on the Lock (75) and guide the Feeder Shoe back into position.

10.Be careful. When pulling back the Tab, it will spring forward with force. Keep your fingers clear when releasing.

11.If you are unable to clear the nail jam using the method prescribed above, the tool should be taken to a qualified service technician for proper servicing.
