A. Splatter Guard

The splatter guard is a piece of corrugated material used
to protect the appliance during the installation process be-
fore nishing work on the whole hearth is complete.
Splatter guards must be removed before appliance is
red.
Risk of Fire
Splatter guard must be removed before lighting
appliance.
Before splatter guard is installed:
Close ball valve to prevent accidental lighting.
WARNING
To install the Splatter Guard:
Step 2. Crease ap on top side of splatter guard using the
scored line as the guide. See Figure 13.2.

Step 3. Crease aps on left and right sides of splatter guard
using the scored line as the guide. See Figure 13.3.
Step 4. Center the splatter guard in front of the unit as
shown in Figure 13.4. Place the splatter guard in the unit
by guiding the top ap into proper position and then con-
tinuing to guide the tabs on the side aps into the top slot
on the left and right sides of the appliance. The top slot
is indicated in Figure 13.5. Take care not to bend or break
off the tabs.

TOP SLOT
Step 1. Turn off gas to valve. Red gas shutoff knob is
located on ball valve. Disconnect the 3 volt transformer
from the junction box. See Figure 13.1.
