MOUNTING THE SAFE-T-TIP® NOSE GUARD

See Figures 61 and 62.

1.Mount the SAFE-T-TIP on the bar nose.

2.Fit the locking rivet or tab in the recessed hole in the guide bar.

3.Tighten the screw with your finger.

4.From the finger tight position, tighten the screw an additional 3/4 of a turn using a wrench.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER

See Figures 63, 64, and 65.

Note: Always clean the air filter before making any mixture adjustments of the carburetor.

1.For access to the air filter and carburetor area, loosen the three screws holding the cylinder cover.

2.Lift the front of the cylinder cover past hand guard.

3.Lift the back of the cylinder cover past the handle.

4.Before removing the air filter from the carburetor, blow or brush as much loose dirt and sawdust from around the carburetor and chamber as possible.

Note: Make sure to pull the choke rod out to keep the carburetor from being contaminated.

5.Remove the screw securing the air filter.

6.Position a flat screw driver between the tabs and twist as shown in the illustration.

7.Lift the air filter off the air filter base.

Choose one of the following cleaning options:

8.To lightly clean, tap the filter against a smooth, flat surface to dislodge most saw dust and dirt particles.

9.For a more thorough cleaning, clean in warm soapy water, rinse, and let dry completely.

Note: An alternate method is to clean the filter with compressed air (always wear eye protection to avoid eye injury).

10.Reinstall the air filter, making sure that the tabs on the air filter are located in channels on the air filter bottom before tightening filter retainer screw.

Clean the pre-filter every 25 tanks of fuel or sooner, if required. Remove the cylinder cover, starter assembly

and the fan housing baffle for access to the pre-filter in the engine housing.

Note: If you use an air hose for drying, blow through both sides of filter.

CAUTION:

Never run the engine without the air filter, serious damage could result.

Make sure the air filter is correctly placed in the air filter cover before reassembly.

UT10510 specifications

The Homelite UT10510 chainsaw is a versatile and efficient tool designed for both novice and experienced users who require a dependable saw for various tasks, from trimming and pruning to heavier cutting jobs. Known for its power and ease of use, the UT10510 is a reliable addition to any toolbox.

One of the main features of the Homelite UT10510 is its 10-inch cutting bar, which provides a perfect balance between maneuverability and cutting capacity. This size makes it ideal for tackling small to medium-sized branches, allowing users to handle tasks quickly and efficiently. It is also lightweight, reducing user fatigue during extended use, a benefit that is particularly important for those who may need to work for prolonged periods.

The UT10510 is powered by a gas engine, providing a robust 25cc of power. This engine allows for strong performance, enabling the saw to cut through tougher materials with relative ease. Additionally, the gas-powered design offers the advantage of being more portable than electric models, as it does not require a power source or long extension cords.

Another noteworthy technology incorporated into the Homelite UT10510 is its automatic chain lubrication system. This feature ensures that the chain remains well-lubricated during operation, which not only prolongs the life of the chain but also enhances cutting efficiency. A well-lubricated chain reduces friction, allowing for smoother cuts and reducing the risk of overheating.

Additionally, the UT10510 includes a tool-free chain tensioning system, which makes it easy for users to quickly adjust the chain tension without the need for additional tools. This feature is particularly useful for those who may not have extensive experience with chainsaw maintenance, as it simplifies what can be an otherwise complicated process.

Safety is also a significant consideration in the design of the Homelite UT10510. It features a chain brake that stops the chain immediately in case of kickback. This safety feature is critical for reducing the risk of accidents while operating the saw.

In summary, the Homelite UT10510 is a compact, powerful chainsaw designed for versatility and ease of use. With its effective 10-inch cutting bar, reliable gas engine, automatic chain lubrication, tool-free chain tensioning, and built-in safety features, it stands out as a practical choice for both casual users and those looking to handle more demanding cutting tasks. Whether you need to trim branches in your yard or cut firewood, the UT10510 is designed to meet your needs efficiently.
