4.1Checking the Engine Oil Level Service Interval: Before each use.

Make sure that the oil level is between the Add and the Full marks as shown on the dipstick (Fig. 12 & 13). If the oil level is below the Add mark, add oil. Refer to Filling the Crankcase with Oil (Section 3.4.1).

4.2Checking the Blade Brake Clutch (For units with a Blade Brake Clutch Only) Refer to Section 4.3.7 Checking the Blade Brake Clutch.

4.3Cleaning the Underside of the Lawn Mower Housing.

To ensure the best performance, keep the underside of the lawn mower housing clean (Fig. 14).

1.Position the lawn mower on a flat concrete or asphalt surface near a garden hose.

2.Start the engine.

3.Hold the running garden hose a handle level and direct the water to flow on the ground just in front of the right rear tire (Fig. 15).

4. Engage the blade.

NOTE: The blade will draw in water and wash out clippings. Let the water run until you no longer see clipping being washed out from under the housing.

5. Disengage the blade, stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.

6. Turn off the water.

7. Start the lawn mower, engage the blade, and let the lawn mower run for a few minutes to dry out its components.
