With No Read turned On, the image scanner sends an “NR” to the host if you pull and release the trigger without reading a code (e.g., bad barcode). If No Read is turned Off, the “NR” will not be sent to the host.

If you want a different notation than “NR,” for example, “Error,” or “Bad Code,” you can edit the output message using the Data Formatter (page 5-4). The hex code for the No Read symbol is 9C.

Video Reverse

Video Reverse is used to allow the image scanner to read barcodes that are inverted. The “Off” barcode below is an example of this type of barcode.

Note: If additional menuing is required, Video Reverse must be disabled to

read the menu barcodes and then re-enabled after menuing is completed.
