Disposal
• Observe local environmental standards when disposing

•TheEuropean Directive2002/96/EConWaste Electricaland
ElectronicEquipment (WEEE), requires that old household
electricalappliances must not be disposed of in the
normalunsorted municipal waste stream.Old appliances
mustbe collected separately in order to optimise the
recoveryand recycling of the materials they contain and
reducethe impact on human health and the environment.
Thecrossedout“wheeledbin”symbolontheproductreminds
youofyourobligation,thatwhenyoudisposeoftheappliance
itmust be separately collected. Consumers should contact
theirlocalauthorityor retailerforinformationconcerning the
correctdisposaloftheiroldappliance.
Respecting and conserving the
environment
• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.Ensure
thatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonotplaceitnear
heatsources.
• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsoropening
thedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.
• Do not fill the appliance with too much food: cold air must
circulatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.Ifcirculation
isimpeded,thecompressorwillworkcontinuously.
• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.Theinternal
temperaturewillincreaseand forcethecompressor towork
harderandwillconsumemoreenergy.
TroubleshootingIftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance(see
Assistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.
Any indicator lights do not illuminate.
•IfthefunctionICareisnotactive(seesection),theplughasnot
beeninsertedintotheelectrical socket,ornotfar enoughto
makecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.
The motor does not start.
• Theappliance comes with a motor protection control (see
Start-upanduse).
The indicator lights are on but the light is dim.
