Your new HP Pavilion computer is built to work right now — and for many years to come. But, it is a complex, powerful machine, and sometimes things go wrong. If that happens to your computer, Hewlett-Packard is ready to help. Here’s how.

What to Do First: See What You Can Do

There’s lots of helpful information included with your HP Pavilion. First look at Help on your Windows® desktop (to access it, click Start on the taskbar). It contains more detailed help and will give you suggestions on how to fix the problem. Next try a little surfing! The HP At Home Web site, at http://www.hp-at-home.com, has updated software, tips and tricks, common problems, and solutions.

What to Do Next: Call HP Customer Care Center

Finally, if these steps don’t help, you can reach a live, knowledgeable support person by calling the HP Customer Care Center at 1-208-323-2551 in the U.S., and 1-905-206-HOME (1-905-206-4663) in Canada. Technical phone assistance to help diagnose potential hardware issues is free for the duration of the hardware warranty period. The HP Customer Care Center is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

And, if Necessary: Get Repair

Consumer Replaceable Parts

You can easily replace many of the HP Pavilion parts yourself. This is the fastest method of repair, as many times we can send the part directly to your home or business in a few days. Detailed instructions are included to guide you through an easy repair. We pay the shipping and handling. This service is free for the duration of the hardware warranty period.

Send-In Repair Service

Your PC can be shipped to the HP Central Repair Center. We pay for the round-trip shipping and handling. This service is free for the duration of the hardware warranty period.

There are a few limitations and exclusions to this warranty (as well as some important details) and you’ll find them described, in legal language, beginning on the next page.

Carry-In Service

You also have the option of taking your PC to a retailer who is an HP Authorized Service Provider. The ASP can facilitate the service on your PC.
