To identify the modem connector, look at the back panel of the computer. The modem looks similar to one of the following illustrations.

Modem connector
To connect the cable between the modem and the telephone line:
1Plug one end of a modem cable into the Line connector on the back of the computer. This connector is labeled with either Line or a jack symbol.
2Plug the other end of the cable into the telephone line jack on the wall.
