save muvee: Opens the Save muvee window for you to save the finished movie to one of several formats.

Capturing video from a DV camcorder

You can capture (copy) digital video files to your hard disk drive by using muvee autoProducer with a compatible DV camcorder connected to a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port on your PC. You can capture video either live (known as camera mode) or recorded (known as VCR mode).

Captured video files are automatically added to your movie project. To remove the file from your movie project, select the video file in the list of captured DV videos, and click Delete.

When capturing video, it is important to be aware of the amount of free space available on your PC hard disk drive. Capturing video can use a large amount of disk space. The amount of free disk space displays on the Capture video window in muvee autoProducer while you are capturing video.

Capturing live video from a DV camcorder

Capturing live video in camera mode allows you to create a video file without even having a tape in the camcorder.

To capture live video to your hard disk drive:

1If your project is already open, click the capture DV button, and skip to step 4.

2Click Start, choose All Programs, muvee autoProducer, and then click muvee autoProducer again.

3Open a project by selecting from the File menu either New Project or Open Project.

4Connect your DV camcorder to the FireWire (IEEE 1394) port on your PC, and turn on the camcorder.

5Set the camcorder to camera mode using the instructions in the manufacturer’s documentation.

6Click the Start Capture button to begin capturing the live footage directly to your PC hard disk drive.

7Click the Stop Capture button to stop capturing.

8Click the Browse button to be able to specify a file name and folder for the captured video file.
