Before removing the top cover:
1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn on the computer, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first disconnecting the power cord from the AC outlet and then disconnecting AC adapter from the computer.
4.Remove the following components:
a.Battery (see Battery on page 34)
b.Hard drive (See Hard drive on page 36)
c.Memory module (see Memory module on page 39)
d.Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 42)
Remove the top cover:
1.Turn the computer upside down with the front toward you.
2.Remove two rubber feet (1) and two rubber rectangles (2) that are located on the bottom of the computer.
3.Remove the two Phillips PM2.5x3 and three Phillips PM2.5x6.5 screws on the base enclosure
(3). Remove the two silver trim rings (4) from the base enclosure.
4.Turn the computer
5.Open the computer as far as possible.
