3.2.1Installing a 3PAR Host Explorer Agent on Microsoft Windows Server Systems

To install a 3PAR Host Explorer agent on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or 2008 system:

1Log into the host as the System Administrator.

2Insert the 3PAR Host Explorer CD into a CD-ROM drive.

3Open a Windows Explorer window.

4Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer.

5Double-click the CD-ROM drive to expand the files.

6Double-click the appropriate file:

◆For x86-32 platforms: HostExplorerX86.msi

◆For x86-64-bit platforms: HostExplorerX64.msi

3.2.2Verifying the Installation on Microsoft Windows Server

To verify the 3PAR Host Explorer agent installation for the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or

2008 system:

1Log on as the System Administrator.

2Select Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Result: The Add/Remove Programs window appears.

3Verify 3PAR Host Explorer for Windows appears under the Currently installed programs column.

3.2.3Installing a 3PAR Host Explorer Agent on Red Hat Linux Systems

To install a 3PAR Host Explorer agent on a Red Hat Linux system:

1Log on as the root user.

2Insert the 3PAR Host Explorer CD into a CD-ROM drive.

3Change directory to the CD-ROM drive.
